This will certainly help decrease the percentage of unwanted gases in greenhouse that keeps our planet warm. With this excessive amount of gases the planet becomes extremely hot or warm. This is caused by human activities like burning of fossil fuels. It is very nice that Denver roofer also found way to help the planet have a cooler humidity by using eco-friendly products. Roofers Denver care about our planet and nature so much that they see to it that all materials used will cause no harm to our eco-system.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04211156652968894294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3161424655689380473.post-48994619707373471052010-02-14T18:09:27.722-06:002010-02-14T18:09:27.722-06:00Awesome. I'll also make a point to check out your setup when I visit Chicago, thanks for the invite!chiayihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14200932465831694803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3161424655689380473.post-13185619511068098962010-02-14T09:59:10.162-06:002010-02-14T09:59:10.162-06:00Hi Steve,

They're the T-8 bulbs, not the larger/older T-12, though they'd work too. It's not necessary to buy expensive grow lights that replicate the full light spectrum because we're not growing the plants to maturity indoors, just giving them a headstart.

Tiny Farm Blog has a nice summary on seed starting under lights here.Brucehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04901484046810490059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3161424655689380473.post-12459356233613161262010-02-14T08:53:50.742-06:002010-02-14T08:53:50.742-06:00Hey Steve: what a lovely note. What type of bulbs do you suggest I use to get things crackin'? Any idea about cost or ease of purchasing bulbs - hardware store?

Thanks so much for the great site - I recommend it to my friends interested in SIP planters. Did lots of tinkering last year based on ideas from the site. I live in Milwaukee and hope to get to the windy city this spring for some SIP learnin'.

Steve Falsettichiayihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14200932465831694803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3161424655689380473.post-28146674784065679552010-02-13T16:24:09.684-06:002010-02-13T16:24:09.684-06:00esp: what a good idea, using the storm windows to ...esp: what a good idea, using the storm windows to make a frame. Another is to take one of the large plastic boxes that greens are sold in--like earthbound farms uses.

One of the large might sit over a whole row of greens. The smaller ones work well too--I use them to create heat when I'm starting seeds in SIPs in Sept-Oct and I want them to warm up and get going.

Just position them over the starts--amazing how warm them get inside. Then on a sunny day lift them to air out from time to time. Soon they'll be ready for whatever nature delivers.H2https://www.blogger.com/profile/05697081429612903875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3161424655689380473.post-70384446668428879922010-02-13T16:03:27.861-06:002010-02-13T16:03:27.861-06:00I see. I may give it a try with some of the cold hardy greens you recommend.

Thanks again. Thanks.

When you plant these in 4 weeks or so, will they be going into SWCs outside? Will you be using any type of cold frame or cloche on them?esphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17926018716175013496noreply@blogger.com
